BOSTON (Reuters) - State police said there was no threat at a Boston area mall on Tuesday after a report of a man inside who appeared to be carrying a rifle.
Police said the man identified by witnesses was carrying an umbrella, not a rifle.
The man in question called police to report he was the person who had been seen at the mall, which was confirmed by surveillance footage, police said.
Police questioned the man and determined he was not carrying a weapon and there was no threat.
