WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Students in the Wausau school district will be getting out a little later than their friends in other districts this summer.
That's because they need to make up two days that were canceled this year – one of them when more than 350 teachers walked off the job in February to protest limits to collective bargaining in Governor Walker's budget repair bill.
The district says the last day of school will be Tuesday June 7th. Students will go to school for a half-day and get out at 11:30 a.m. That will also be the last day for teachers who will spend the afternoon finalizing their grades and other year-end work.
