MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - A state appeals court refused today to grant a new trial for a Fox Valley man convicted of killing a female jogger 11 years ago in Kaukauna.
42-year-old Kenneth Hudson of Little Chute is serving a life term at the Green Bay Correctional Institution for stabbing 19-year-old Shanna Van Dyn Hoven.
It happened while she was running near her home in 2000.
Hudson asked the Third District Appellate Court in Wausau to consider almost 50 reasons for seeking a new trial.
Among other things, Hudson said evidence was tampered with – and his attorneys did not adequately represent him. But the appeals’ judges bought none of it. They said Van Dyn Hoven’s blood was found on his truck and one of his hands around the time of the slaying.
The court said Hudson’s conspiracy theories were quote, “far-fetched.”
