MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Officials at the Centers for Disease Control are trying to speak with passengers on a commercial airliner who flew from Madison to Atlanta a week ago yesterday.
Health officials want to know if those people had contact with a bat. It escaped, so it isn't known if the bat had rabies.
There were 50 passengers on Delta flight 5121, which left Madison at 6:45 a.m. August 5.
The jet had taken off when the bat emerged and flew back and forth the length of the cabin.
The pilot returned to Madison. At one point passengers managed to trap the bat in the plane's bathroom. It later managed to escape.
