WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – One of the four people charged in a counterfeiting scheme in Wausau has made her initial appearance.
Bond was set yesterday for 29-year-old Christina Abbott. She'll have to pay the first $500 of a $2,000 signature bond in cash to get out of jail. She's charged with felony bail jumping and forgery. If convicted all four face fines of up to $100,000 and six-years in prison.
Police say the counterfeiters scanned real bills into a computer and then printed the fake ones. They were used at up to four garage sales in Wausau and one in Weston on Memorial day weekend. The other three people charged will have court dates next week.
