WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Two convicted sex offenders who have a history of assault have been or will be released in Wausau.
The state corrections department released 28-year-old Michael Schimmel last Tuesday. He is living in a halfway house near the courthouse.
Schimmel was convicted in Marathon County in 2003 for a 2001 sexual assault with use of force. Agents will track him through an electronic ankle bracelet.
Meanwhile, the department plan to release 44-year-old Dale Krueger on Saturday.
Krueger’s most recent conviction came last year in Marathon County when he was found guilty of exposing a child to harmful materials. Agents will track him using GPS software.
