CRANDON, Wis. (WSAU) – A judge from Shawano County will hear the case against a Laona man charged with stabbing a woman last month.

Forest County prosecutors charged John Warren last week with attempted first-degree intentional homicide for stabbing a woman multiple times January 31st. Warren asked for a substitute judge and court officials assigned the case to Shawano County Judge Thomas Grover.

The 44-year-old Warren remains jailed on a $200,000 cash bond. Future court dates have not been set.
