MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Milwaukee teen has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for killing a stranger during an attempted street robbery.
17-year-old Howard Brown IV was convicted of reckless homicide in the death of 17-year-old Andre Evans last July.
Police said Brown was walking with his 15-year-old half-brother and a 21-year-old man when he pointed a gun at Evans and said “give me the money.” Evans pushed Brown away – and then Brown shot the victim once in the chest and ran off with his accomplices.
Brown and his half-brother turned themselves into police the next day after their parents demanded it.
The half-brother pleaded no contest in juvenile court, and is currently at the Ethan Allen boys’ school in Wales.
