SCHOFIELD, Wis (WSAU) Federal Mogul had announced plans to shut down its Schofield plant last May. Now they've set the date for the shutdown. It will happen in December, 2011.

The company notified the Department of Workforce Development that they are moving most of their production work to another plant in Manitowoc. Some employees will also have the option of transferring there.

A 'reduction in workforce' filing with the state says layoffs will begin in March in Schofield. When the plant closes at the end of the year 159 union jobs and 24 office positions will be lost. The state has already been offering re-training and relocation assistance to impacted workers.
