WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Power is still out this morning for about 150 customers in Wausau after a quick, blustery storm blew through Wausau and northwestern Wisconsin.
At the height of the storm, some 15,000 Wisconsin Public Service customers were without power, including over 4000 in Wausau. Damages from the storm have not yet been estimated, but WPS and arboreal crews have been out most of the weekend clearing trees from power lines and building across the area.
The storm was so violent that calls had to be transferred from Marathon County's dispatch center to Lincoln County in order to keep up.
WPS says power should be restored some time this morning.
