UNDATED (WSAU) One of southeast Wisconsin’s most respected broadcast journalists has died. Former Milwaukee TV anchor John McCullough died yesterday at a hospital in South Bend, Indiana. He was 77. His wife Sandy said he might have died from a problem with a heart rhythm. He collapsed this past weekend at the couple’s summer home in Granger, Indiana.
McCullough spent 21 years broadcasting the news on WTMJ TV until he retired in 1988. After that, McCullough started his own production company – and it made award-winning documentaries for WTMJ and Milwaukee public television.
