MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) – Maybe they would leave if they weren't being fed.
The Dane County Park Commission is asking that Madison's ban on feeding wild animals be expanded to feeding geese in county parks. Both the county and the city of Madison say geese droppings are threatening the water quality and public health.
Feeding has developed into a big problem at Mendota Park in Middleton, Fish Camp Park in McFarland and Tenney Lock in Madison.
A public hearing on the matter is scheduled for Wednesday.
Depending on the response, it could go to the Park Commission next.
