WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – The Department of Corrections will be releasing a convicted sex offender into the Wausau area today.
DOC says Arthur Graves Sr. was convicted in 1991 of second degree sexual assault of a child and being party to a crime of child prostitution. The convictions resulted from an arrest where Graves had sexual contact with a 15 year old runaway girl in a Wausau motel. The girl was also engaging in prostitution and turning that money over to Graves and another woman. He had originally been sentenced to 10 years in prison and 10 on probation, but repeated violations and other convictions kept him in and out of prison until this month.
Graves will be monitored by corrections agents from the Probation and Parole Office and will be living in a halfway house near the courthouse. He's subject both to GPS monitoring and a highly restrictive schedule. He'll also be on the sex offender registry while on release.
