WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - D-O-T officials will be in Wausau today for an open house on the upcoming reconstruction of the County U and K interchange with Highway 51.
Project manager Tom Krizenesky says work on that interchange is scheduled to start in 2013. The two year project is currently set to realign the ramps over Highway 51, perform repairs and maintenance to the roads connecting with the interchange, and separate the Highway K and U ramps. “The roadway does not meet vertical height standards, and is in generally poor conditions. It’s really in need of repairs.”
The purpose for the hearing is to take public comment on the project, including input on the different plans for construction on the table at this time. The Department does have a preferred version of the final project, but Krizenesky says that they still want to make sure the public’s input is included in the final
The hearing starts at 5:30 in Rooms 1 and 2 of the Marathon County building at 212 River Drive.
