STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) Yesterday morning there was a union rally outside M & I Bank in Stevens Point. Members of Local 584 and a group of UW-Stevens Point students say M & I supports Governor Walker in his plan to roll back collective bargaining rights.
The bank says their corporation didn't donate to either candidate in last year's race for governor, and that employees were free to make contributions to any candidate the wish. Demonstrators say several top M & I executives gave to the Walker campaign.
Several unions are encouraging their members to take their cash out of M & I.
Yesterday's Stevens Point march started on the U-W-S-P campus and ended at Democratic Party headquarters downtown. Several dozen people took part.
