The Sedin brothers were too much for the Red Wings last night as Western Conference leading Vancouver beat Detroit 2-to-1 at Joe Louis Arena.
Daniel Sedin scored twice while his brother Henrik had two assists as the two now occupy the top-two spots on this season’s points list in the N-H-L. Jimmy Howard made 31 stops for Detroit while Jiri Hudler scored the lone goal for the Red Wings, who have dropped their past three games.
With 105 points, the Canucks hold a 10-point lead over the Red Wings for the number one spot in the conference as both teams have eight games to play. Detroit holds a seven-point lead over Nashville and Chicago for first place in the Central Division. The Red Wings return to action Saturday at home against Toronto.
