Marian Hossa scored a power-play goal 51 seconds into overtime last night to give Chicago a 3-to-2 win over the Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena. It was his first goal against Detroit as an ex-Wing and was set up by Henrik Zetterberg's hooking penalty in the final seconds of regulation.
Hossa took a pass from Patrick Kane and let go a slap shot from the left circle that beat Joey MacDonald. MacDonald, starting in place of Jimmy Howard, stopped 38 shots for the Red Wings, who have dropped four of five. Howard missed the game after suffering an upper-body injury Saturday against Toronto. Nicklas Lidstrom and Zetterberg scored last night for Detroit, which hosts St. Louis tomorrow night.
