The Red Wings Tonight Are Facing Their Third Straight Elimination Game

The Red Wings have made the playoffs for 20 straight years but over the two decades,Detroithas never wiped out a 3-to-0 series deficit. But they remain on track to possibly pull off such a comeback as they host the Sharks tonight in Game Six of their Western Conference semi-final series.

The Red Wings trail San Jose 3-games-to-2 after they rallied to win 4-to-3 on the Shark’s home ice Sunday night.

Red Wings forward Johan Franzen is questionable for tonight's game. Franzen reaggravated an ankle injury he suffered in the first round againstPhoenixand played just over nine minutes in Game Five inSan Jose. Babcock says if Franzen can't play tonight, Mike Modano will take his place. If the Red Wings force a game seven, it will be Thursday night atSan Jose.

Whatever team captures the series will face Vancouver in the conference finals after the Canucks advanced last night by winning 2-to-1 in Game Six at Nashville.

In the ECHL, the Kalamazoo Wings tonight will try to close out the Eastern Conference Finals against Wheeling with the K-Wings hosting the Nailers and leading the series 3-games-to-2.
