FOX POINT, Wis. (WTAQ) - A court commissioner ruled today that a 17-year-old boy from Fox Point is not mentally competent to go on trial for killing his grandfather with an ax.
Richard Wilson will have another hearing a week from Thursday in Waukesha County Circuit Court.
Circuit Judge William Domina is expected to decide whether to send Wilson to a state mental institution until he can be ruled competent to help with his defense.
Wilson is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, after he allegedly killed 78-year-old real estate developer Ronald Siepmann. Authorities said it happened at a family gathering on Mother’s Day. Siepmann’s body was found near a shed on his property next to Beaver Lake.
Officials said Wilson was diagnosed with schizo-phrenia last November, and he reportedly stopped taking his medications.
