UNDATED (WSAU) – Two high profile cases in Central Wisconsin were before judges yesterday.
A Kronenwetter man accused of a home invasion in Rib Mountain last fall is asking for a speedy trial. Larry London had previously changed his plea to not guilty by reason of insanity in March. A jury trail was delayed earlier this month, and London is asking for a set court date. That trial would take place in two parts, the first to determine if London was guilty of the charges and the second to determine his mental status. A new judge will have to be assigned before that can happen though, as Mike Moran is set to take the bench next month, and he previously worked with London as chief of the public defender's office. London remains jailed on a hundred thousand dollar cash bond.
A Wausau man accused of murdering his mother and trying to cover it up has had trial dates set in Lincoln County. Chase Boruch will have a one week trial in either October or November, depending on when witnesses and other factors coincide with scheduling. A motion hearing is scheduled for August 8th. Boruch is accused of staging his mother's death by drowning in Moraine Lake last summer in order to collect life insurance money. An autopsy showed Sally Pergolski has suffered a brain injury two hours before the staged drowning.
