A blaze broke out in the attic of Hollywood's Magic Castle on Monday afternoon (31Oct11), prompting bosses to cancel a Halloween gala.

Ironically, the theme for this year's Halloween event was 'Inferno', and during the run-up to the gala, the club's website announced that the Magic Castle would be 'ON FIRE with the spirit of Halloween!', reports the Los Angeles Times.

But only a small part of the 90-year-old venue was touched by fire and many of the Castle's fabled magic rooms remain intact.
