WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – More than two dozen people hungry for a job with a Massachusetts technology firm streamed into the company's Wausau hiring blitz in the first 10 minutes on Tuesday morning.
Collaborative Consulting met with prospective employees at Northcentral Technical College. The blitz continues until 1:30 p.m. and from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Company officials will also meet with applicants from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. again Wednesday.
The company has said it would like to hire 25 people after the two-day hiring blitz.
“Our goal is to identify good, high quality candidates who can help us build the center out,” said Collaborative senior vice president of marketing and services John Williams.
Collaborative announced last week that it plans to build a software development and testing center in Wausau and add up to 200 jobs over the next three years.
Dave Reilly, a semi-retired resident of Wautoma, made the more than hour-long drive to Wausau to look for a job.
“My skill sets are broad but shallow,” Reilly said, adding that he has experience managing projects and doing consulting. Reilly was among a handful of people who sat down for a few minutes with Collaborative officials.
“I'm excited about what they're doing. I really believe in what they're doing,” he said.
