WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – A Massachusetts technology firm is looking at several possible locations for its new office in Wausau though officials have not yet settled on a permanent site.
“We want a place that's exciting to work,” Collaborative Consulting senior vice president of marketing and services John Williams said in an interview Tuesday. He said the company scouted some locations over the summer when they began discussing plans with city officials to build a software development and testing center.
“There are probably more locations now than there were when we initially looked that have come into the potentials pool,” Williams said.
Company officials are leaning toward a location downtown but said any site must have available space to expand and be affordable. One location executives are analyzing is the Dudley Tower, where the firm announced its plans last week to build in Wausau and add up to 200 jobs over the next three years.
“That's certainly an attractive, potential location,” Williams said. “But there are a number of others that are represented by other firms that have had equally strong potential.”
Williams said the firm wants to reach a decision on a permanent site by the start of the year. He also said officials are looking at a temporary location that they could use until they settle in their permanent facility.
