UNDATED (WSAU) There were two survivors in a small plane crash near Chicago on Monday night. One of them is from Birnamwood.

Maynard Blodget is an EMT with the Birnamwood Fire Department. He was working as a flight medic when the medical transport plane went down in Riverwoods, Illinois. Blodget is hospitalized with non life threatening injuries. Two people onboard did not survive.

The medical transfer flight was taking an elderly couple from Florida to Chicago. The pilot, who died in the crash, radioed about fuel problems. The crash is still under investigation.
