WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) – Wausau Police are alerting the public to the release of a sex offender into the community.

34-year-old Pierre Camacho was originally convicted in 1996 of two counts of second degree sexual assault of a child. He's being released on extended supervision for an unrelated case from 2006 for being a felon in possession of a firearm and recklessly endangering safety.

While on release, Camacho will be on GPS monitoring, as well as strict supervision by the department of corrections. Comacho is a life registrant of the sex offender registry.
