GRANT COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - A car that was stopped for speeding resulted in a pair of heroin arrests in southwest Wisconsin.

Grant County sheriff’s deputies said a 23-year-old Lancaster man and a 24-year-old Fennimore man were taken to jail during the weekend to face an array of criminal charges.

They were stopped for speeding Saturday night on Highway 18 in the Grant County town of Wingville. A police dog picked up the scent of illegal drugs, and that’s when officers said they discovered the evidence.

The 24-year-old was driving the car, and he faces possible counts of felony heroin possession and bail jumping. The other man faces at least one felony of heroin possession.

Investigators said other charges are pending in the case.
