DENVER, Co. (WSAU) - The Wisconsin men’s hockey team scored twice in the first 13 minutes and whipped Denver 3-1 Saturday in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game.
It was the Badgers’ second victory of the season. Goals by Derek Lee and Nic Kerdiles in the first period were all they would need. John Ramage scored on a short-handed empty-net goal with nine seconds remaining. Wisconsin’s record improves to 2-7-3, including 2-5-3 in conference play. Denver outshot the Badgers 36-25, but goalie Landon Peterson was up to the challenge, making 35 saves.
