MADISON (WSAU-TSN) Ben Brust posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds as the Wisconsin Badgers downed the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks, 86-40, in an non-conference matchup at the Kohl Center.
Ryan Evans also posted a double-double for the Badgers (6-3) with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Jared Berggren added 13 points, Frank Kaminsky netted 11 and Sam Dekker chipped in 10.
For the Mavericks (2-8), Justin Simmons finished with 12 points.
Wisconsin dominated the opening period, connecting on 50.0 percent of its shots from the field and took a commanding 42-13 lead into halftime. Nebraska-Omaha managed to shoot just 21.7 percent and missed all five of its 3-point attempts in the first half.
After intermission, the Mavericks greatly improved their shooting making 42.9 percent of their field goal attempts, The Badgers continued to make their shots, hitting on 47.2 percent from the field, as they cruised to the easy home victory.
The Mavericks finished the game just 2-of-12 from beyond the three-point arc. The Badgers dominated on the boards, outrebounding the Mavericks 49-26.
