MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) - The Wisconsin men’s hockey team blew a 3-1 lead, but held on for a 3-3 tie at home against Michigan Tech Saturday. Both games in the weekend series ended in a tie.
Tyler Barnes opened the scoring with a first period goal, but Tech answered quickly. Brendan Woods made the lead 2-1 at 8:56 of the period. Joseph LaBate made the lead 3-1 early in the second period. The game-tying goal came early in the final period.
Wisconsin controlled the action and outshot Michigan Tech 37-25. Joel Rumpel made 22 saves. Wisconsin’s record is 2-7-5, including 2-5-5 in WCHA competition.
