MARATHON COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - A Chicago man is expected to settle a court case Monday for supplying the drugs that killed a central Wisconsin man 16 months ago.
26-year-old Tyshun Meeks was supposed to go on trial in Marathon County. But instead, he struck a plea deal – and he’s expected to enter new pleas and be sentenced late Monday morning.
Meeks was originally charged with 10 counts that included first-degree reckless homicide, seven counts of manufacturing and delivering cocaine and heroin, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
Authorities said Meeks was responsible for the death of 26-year-old Justin Selves, who died from a drug overdose in August of 2011. Two women have been sentenced for their roles in the death, and two other men still have charges pending.
Online court records said Meeks still has 2 other open cases in Marathon County – a 2008 charge of cocaine possession, and a 2011 count of obstructing police.
