MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) - Marshfield’s Common Council finalized a new city-wide zoning ordinance at their meeting Tuesday night.
Josh Miller is the city’s Planning and Zoning Administrator, and says the final step of the 18 month-long process was approval of a zoning map, to designate where various zoning regulations will apply. According to Miller, “The whole goal of the map was to not rezone properties necessarily but to either zone what the current conditions were or to match the existing zoning map. In some cases the two didn’t match, so we tried to make corrections as needed.”
This is the first time in over 30 years that the code has undergone a full review, and the new code is expected to serve the city for the next 40 years.
That new zoning code goes into effect January 1, 2013.
