Bucks Fall In Memphis

by

MEMPHIS, TENN (WSAU) The Milwaukee Bucks lost their fifth straight game to Memphis last night, 90-to-80 on the Grizzlies’ home floor.

The Bucks scored only 51 points in the first three quarters, while shooting 29-percent during that stretch. That allowed the Grizzlies to go up by 15 going into the final period – but Memphis was not shooting that well, either, as they out-shot Milwaukee 41-to-35 percent for the night.

The Grizzlies controlled the inside, with a season-high 56 rebounds to Milwaukee’s 44. Zach Randolph had a game-high 17 boards, and he led the Grizzlies in scoring with 15.

Brandon Jennings missed his first eight shots, but he recovered enough to score 26 to lead Milwaukee. Bucks’ guard Monta Ellis, who was playing in front of family and friends from nearby Mississippi, made 1-of-14 from the floor and had just four points.

Coach Scott Skiles said the Bucks had quote, “a ton of open looks – and we just missed them.” It was not the type of performance the Bucks wanted to show to an E-S-P-N audience – and they’ve had very few opportunities to be on a national broadcast in recent years. Memphis extended its winning streak to three games.

Milwaukee is now 6-and-6 on the road, and they’re 1-and-1 in a four-game, five-night marathon. The Bucks get a breather today, before playing the Celtics in Boston tomorrow night and Cleveland at home on Saturday night.
