MADISON, Wis. (TSN-WSAU) - Ryan Evans led all scorers with 19 points as the Wisconsin Badgers dismissed instate rival the Milwaukee Panthers, 74-53, in non-conference action at the Kohl Center.
Evans shot 8-of-16 from the floor and added seven rebounds for the Badgers (8-4), who have won four of five. Ben Brust scored 13 points, while Jared Berggren chipped in 11 points and seven boards.
For Milwaukee (3-10), Paris Gulley had 16 points, and J.J. Panoske came off the bench to tally 13 points, six rebounds, and three blocks.
Wisconsin got out to a commanding 41-18 lead at intermission behind an impressive showing from the field (.519). Milwaukee couldn't find a rhythm, making just 7-of-23 of its field goal attempts in the opening frame.
The Panthers improved to 55.6 percent from the floor after halftime, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Badgers, who led by as many as 27.
Wisconsin held a dominating 36-21 advantage on the boards and shot 11-of-13 from the foul line. Milwaukee was only 2-of-4 from the charity stripe on the evening.
