MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) - Mike Bruesewitz showed his Badger teammates what they had been missing – his hustle and high energy.
Bruesewitz returned to the starting lineup Saturday night in an 87-51 rout of Samford at the Kohl Center. He had missed two games with a concussion, then played sparingly last week, but he was his old self against the Bulldogs. Bruesewitz hit all six of his shots in the first half and finished the game with a season-high 13 points. The Badgers were led by 6-11 sophomore Frank Kaminsky’s 16 points and Ryan Evans had a double-double, with 14 points and a dozen rebounds.
The Badgers connected on 54 percent of their three-pointers and were never challenged in the last non-conference game before starting Big Ten play by hosting Penn State. Badgers coach Bo Ryan was on the bench coaching just two days after his mother, Louise Ryan, had died in Florida at the age of 86.
