MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) - Marshfield is on it’s way to getting a new pet shelter.
That’s according to city administrator Steve Barg, who says the city has agreed to long-term lease on a 2.5-acre parcel of land near the city’s Municipal Airport. According to Barg, “It’s a site that is a good starting point for them in terms of trying to build the type of facility and operation they’re looking for that would house dogs and cats. So now, they need to do their work in fundraising and other planning to hopefully get that project off the ground in the next couple of years.”
That lease was approved following a closed session of the Marshfield Common Council just prior to Christmas.
