WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Wausau police are alerting the public to the release of a sex offender into the area.

52-year old Dale Mickelson was released Tuesday into the Wausau area after serving extra prison time for violating the probation on 2 counts of 3rd degree sexual assault from 2004.

Mickelson is currently living in transitional housing near the courthouse in Wausau and is on strict supervision by the department of corrections. He will also be on GPS monitoring in order to track his location and be listed under the sex offender registry.
