WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The State Boys and Girls Track & Field season finished up with the State Tournament in La Crosse over the weekend. Kimberly won the D-1 boys title with Freedom earning the D-2 crown and La Crosse Aquinas taking D-3
On the girls side, Muskego won in D-1, Freedom in D-2 and La Crosse Aquinas held off Edgar by three points.
Stevens Point freshman Roisin willis smashed the State record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:05.68. Adam Rzentkowski of Rosholt won gold in the 800, 1600 and 3200 run in D-3.
The field is set for the State Girls Softball Tournament that begins Thursday at Goodman Field in Madison. Two central Wisconsin teams earned trips and both will play on Thursday. Tri-County will face Belmont at 5pm in D-3 and Pacelli will take on Mishicot at 9pm in D-4.
