WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) A 27-year-old woman on a bicycle was struck by a car near Oak Island Park in Wausau yesterday. She was not wearing a helmet.
The woman was taken to Wausau Aspirus Hospital. Her injuries are not life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle was not ticketed for the accident, but was citied for driving with a suspended license and operating without insurance.

Meanwhile the Wisconsin Bicycle Federation is kicking off a new safety campaign -- "Three Feet - It's The Law". That's the distance drivers need to allow when passing cyclists on the road. It includes new signs, billboards, and public service announcements.
The group will also be proposing new bike routes, signage, and maps in the Wausau area today.
