OSCEOLA, WI (WTAQ) - Two people were killed Tuesday in a fire that destroyed a house near Osceola in northwest Wisconsin.
The cause has not been determined, and the state Fire Marshal is helping with the investigation.
The house was engulfed in flames when firefighters and Polk County sheriff’s deputies were called about 7 a.m.
Seven hours later, a body was found in the wreckage. And a second body was discovered more than three hours after that, around 5:30 p.m.
Also, officials said a man escaped the blaze. He was taken to a hospital in Osceola, and authorities say his injuries are apparently not serious.
The victims’ names were not immediately released.
