MERRILL, WI (WSAU) -  Investigators believe a Monday morning Merrill fire started with a candle. The fire started around 7:00 in the morning, and caused extensive damage to the second floor of a home at 504 East 4th Street.

Everyone was able to evacuate the home safely. One person was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill for treatment of minor injuries.

An investigation is continuing.
