MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - You may be proud of how you vote – but if you’re not careful, you could go to prison for showing it off.

The techie Web site “All Things ‘D’” posted a round-up of states which ban the use of personal electronic devices while voting.

In Wisconsin, it’s considered felony election fraud to, “intentionally show your marked ballot to any person.”

The state Government Accountability Board put out a memo about the law during the Walker recall elections this summer. Board director Kevin Kennedy said in the memo, “Don’t tweet your ballot.”

Google has encouraged voters to document their voting process on YouTube.

A survey by Pew Research shows that 22% of registered U.S. voters have indicated on Twitter or Facebook whom they voted for.
