MADISON, WI (WSAU) The Wisconsin men’s basketball team overcame a slow start, and crushed Division-Three U-W Oshkosh 96-to-44 in an exhibition game in Madison last night. The Titans went up by eight points in the first two minutes, as the Badgers missed their first three shots. But Wisconsin roared back with a 29-to-2 run which put them up by 21 with just over five minutes left in the first half.
All 14 Wisconsin players scored. Five Badgers were in double figures, led by Jared Berggren with 16. Dylan Wurtz scored 15 for Oshkosh, which is coming off a 4-and-21 campaign a year ago. Oshkosh first-year coach Pat Juckem said it was a great experience to play a high-caliber team like the Badgers but he quote, “wished we would have played better.”
Wisconsin will open its regular season on Sunday at home against Southeastern Louisiana.
