WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - Now that Wisconsin's electoral votes will be going to President Obama, electors are getting ready to meet to cast those ballots.

The elector for the 7th Congressional district is Wausau attorney Christine Bremer-Muggli. Bremer-Muggli says that being chosen is an honor for her. "My grandfather was an elector in 1941 for Roosevelt. I was an elector in the last election. It is a huge honor for me." Bremer-Muggli has been a long time Democrat supporter, helping organize and prep volunteers for the 2008 presidential elections.

Each state is able to send Electors equal to the number of congressional districts plus 2 more for the senators. Those votes go to the Majority winner of the presidential elections. Bremer-Muggli says the system allows for an even distribution of voting power among the states. "It is something that is meant to reflect representative democracy."

Bremer-Muggli says the college is in place to assure that of the 50 states, no one state would dominate the elections. "All states are equally represented in terms of population. All of the states can equally come together and offer their votes to the states."

The Electors will meet in Madison December 17th.
