Campos bound over for trial in Marshfield homicide case

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) -  The 21-year-old Marshfield man accused of killing his girlfriend September 7th was bound over for trial Monday. Gabriel Campos is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the slaying of 18-year-old Maisie McCullough at their east side Marshfield home on September 7th. Campos appeared for a preliminary hearing and arraignment before Judge Todd Wolf Monday.

The medical examiner said there was a large cut across her throat and a smaller cut. There was numerous cuts on her hands, and there was a stab wound to the middle of her back. He testified that the wounds were likely caused by a knife with a serrated blade.

Some of the evidence was presented to the court, including testimony from the medical examiner and a serrated knife Campos allegedly used to fatally stab McCullough. A statement Campos made to investigators was also given to the court, where he said, “There are no other suspects and that he made his bed and now he has to lie in it.”

Gabriel Campos remains jailed on a $5,000,000 cash bond. His next court date has not been set.
