MADISON, WI (WSAU)The Wisconsin men’s basketball team crushed Cornell last night, 73-to-40 in Madison. Cornell only made one of its first 11 shots, and was down 27-to-8 in about the first 12 minutes.
The 22nd-ranked Badgers were up 42-24 at the half, and rolled from there. Wisconsin out-rebounded Cornell 54-to-31, with the most boards the Badgers have ever had in Bo Ryan’s 11-plus seasons in Madison.
Ben Brust had 18 points and 12 rebounds for Wisconsin, and teammate Jared Berggren also scored 18. Ryan Evans also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards, as the Badgers improved to 2-and-1.
Devin Cherry had 13 points for Cornell, which dropped to 1-and-3.
Wisconsin will host Presbyterian tomorrow night.
