WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - Wausau's revival of the Public Access channel continues as a new online option opens up.
Producer Kris Berge says the moves makes the channel truly public. "If you didn't have Charter internet, you couldn't see the programming. This makes sure everyone still has access."
Berge says locally produced shows will now go to the internet as well. "As we get new shows, we'll upload them to the internet, and the newest shows will be right at the top." Right now the only shows on the channel are Wausau city council programming, but more will populate the channel once programming continues to come in.
Berge says the process of airing a show is pretty easy. "Head to the customer service desk at city hall, fill out a release form and we'll get it on the air in a week or two." Any locally produced programming is allowed access to the channel, subject to approval by Access staff.
The current Public Access Local TV Channels are Charter channels 96/981 for Government/Education and 98/980 for Community programs. The new online channel is at http://waac.pegcentral.com
