The identity of the woman killed in a crash near Abbotsford Thursday has been released. Marathon County investigators say 80-year-old Lucille Wild died at the scene on highway 29 near Chestnut Road.
Wild had pulled off the right side of the eastbound lanes, and then she proceeded to turn left to an access road when she was struck in the driver’s door by a semi truck, and rolled over. The truck driver was not seriously hurt. The sheriff's department is still investigating. No charges are expected to be filed.
Authorities withheld the victim’s name into the weekend to allow time to locate and notify family members.
