MEDFORD,WI (WSAU) -  A former Rib Lake firefighter will spend time in prison for a series of arsen fires. 21-year-old Jason Schmudlach

will spend five years in prison followed by nine years on extended supervision.

Schmudlach confessed to the fire chief a year ago that he asked three friends to set fires so that he could help put them out. He was immediately arrested by a Taylor County deputy sheriff.

Three barns and an abandoned house were burned down. 20-year-old Cain Wojcik of Stetsonville is already serving 10 years in prison for setting fires. 19-year-old Chris Zak of Medford and 20-year-old Tyler Yeager of Madison still have trials ahead of them.
