MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) - A 4-2 win Saturday night gives Minnesota State-Mankato its first-ever series sweep over the Wisconsin men’s hockey team in the Kohl Center.
The Badgers are still looking for their first win in front of the home crowd. The Mavericks scored three times in the first period and never trailed. Wisconsin got goals from Jake McCabe and Michael Mersch. Josh Rumpel started the game in goal, but was replaced by Landon Peterson for the final two periods. Wisconsin outshot Minnesota State 35-29.
Wisconsin’s record falls to 1-7-2, including 1-5-2 in the WCHA.
