WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) The Salvation Army's kettle drive in Marathon County is down from last year. Their goal is to raise $160,000. So far only $39,000 has come in.
The Salvation Army has 26 kettles in the area, and fewer people are volunteering to man them. Half the kettles don't have a bell-ringer. At some locations, the kettle doesn't go out if there isn't someone there to watch it because of theft concerns.
The Salvation Army is accepting credit card donations on-line for people who don't carry a lot of cash during the holidays.
